Thanks to our main partner at The Warehouse, Railpen for working with us as part of their redevelopment of the Beehive Centre to provide us the unit that currently houses the indoor skatepark, on a meanwhile basis until the building is demolished.
We're also very grateful to Railpen for partnering with us to incorporate skateboarding and roller skating within the heart of the Beehive redevelopment through the integration of skateable features into the built environment.
Railpen organised consultation sessions with local skaters of all ages and abilities mean that architectural features and spaces are designed with the input of the people who will use them, ensuring the plans meet the needs of skaters and pedestrians.
Thanks to Cambridge City Council for, through their Active Lifestyles Team, contributing Section 106 funds to the park which allowed us to build the majority of our ramps and obstacles.
Thanks to Skateboard GB for their continued support advising on legal and safeguarding issues, boosting the public profile of Cam Skate and the Warehouse including a wonderful video about the park and partnering with us to run skateboarding competitions at the park - coming January 2026!
Thanks to Living Sport Cambridge for running the safeguarding courses that we send all of our volunteer supervisors on!
Makespace is a community workshop in the heart of Cambridge, managed for and by its members. This model was a huge inspiration for us when we opened The Warehouse! Makespace members provided business mentoring as part of the 'Office Hours' group, and many of the assets at the park were produced at Makespace. Makespace and The Warehouse are both examples of what a community can achieve when given the space and resources to provide for their own needs.
Thanks to Pete Higginson (trading as Carpintree) for leading construction on the initial build of the park. Pete transformed our high-level layout concepts into detailed construction drawings, then managed the entire build process - ordering materials, measuring and cutting everything to size, and liaising with metal fabricators for the rails. Working massive shifts over more than two months and coordinating a large team of volunteers, Pete delivered the park on time, within budget, and to an excellent standard. He continues to provide invaluable support and maintenance to keep the park in top condition.
Thanks to Four One Four Skateparks for contributing materials, ramp profiles, and time to our initial build!
Thanks to The Skate Parchitect for contributing to our initial build, and for designing and leading the build on our extension!
Thanks to SES Engineering Services for fitting out the park with a brand new set of brighter and more energy efficient LED lights!
Thanks to Chater Allan Chartered Accountants for providing accounting services.
Thanks to Oscar's Lockdown Pizza for providing pizzas at our Community Evenings for volunteers, and for supporting Cam Skate since the beginning with themed pizzas contributing funding to our mission!
Thanks to Small and Green for providing the lovely plants that liven up The Warehouse's reception area (and thanks all the volunteers who water them).
Thanks to Cardozo Kindersley Workshop for their generous purchasing of a Partner Membership, contributing financially to the park.
The With Purpose Network has helped Cam Skate from the realisation to the operation of The Warehouse skatepark through, for example, connecting us with a business partner who provided pro bono legal support, another contact who helped us with our impact analysis, and members who have provided leads to potential future indoor skatepark locations.
