Community Stories

The skateboarding community of Cambridge designed, built and manage this facility! Every time the Warehouse opens, it's because of a volunteer giving their time to make the session possible. We're always on the lookout for new volunteers - let us know if you're interested in getting involved.

Impact

7 days a week
Since October 2024 we have offered a safe and welcoming space, all year round, 7 days a week, for people of all ages to come and skate, rollerskate/blade, or ride scooters, at an accessible price.
We put on dedicated sessions for women, girls and non binary people, and for the LGBTQ+ community, as well as sessions for over 30s, under 10s, and beginners.
2 schools
SEMH schools that visit The Warehouse regularly for PE lessons.
658 hours
of free skateboard coaching delivered! 2800 in total!
Through our coaching programme we are getting more people into skateboarding, and we offer free lessons and equipment to young people who can't normally afford to experience this.
50 volunteers
who give their time regularly to operate the park and supervise skate sessions.
We're creating a community of volunteers who have genuine ownership over this project, shaping it to their needs and the needs of the wider community.
